BALDWIN PARK IS HOME TO NINE PARADE OF HOMES WINNERS

ORLANDO, Fla. (June 26, 2008) – Nine award winners in the 2008 Parade of Homes are located in Baldwin Park, a traditional neighborhood development near downtown Orlando. Baldwin Park builders swept the Custom Home category, winning five of the 18 awards plus the coveted Grand Custom Award for CAHILL’s Amorosa. Three Baldwin Park homes also won awards in the Production Attached category, including Centerline Homes’ Avalon model which won a Grand Award.

Other winners within Baldwin Park include:

  • The Charleston, by Goehring & Morgan Construction, received a first place award in the Custom Home, $2.1 million - $2.35 million category. 
  • Joli, by CAHILL, received a first place award in the Custom Home, $2.45 million – $2.6 million category.
  • Tradewinds, by Charles Clayton Construction, Inc., received a first place award in the $5.0 million - $6.0 million category.
  • Villa Florentine, by Derrick Builders, Inc., received a merit award in the Custom Home, $1.85 million – $2.05 million category.
  • The Ashton, by Issa Homes, received a merit award in the Production Attached, $445K – $499K category.
  • The Alexandria, by Rey Homes, received a merit award in the Production Attached, $595K – $660K category.
  • The Harpeth, by David Weekly Homes, received a merit award in the Production, $900K – $999K category.

The winning homes in Baldwin Park were selected from 140 entries including remodeled homes, single-family homes, townhomes, condominiums, custom homes, Design Specialty Showcase homes, Green-built homes and virtual tours.

Located two miles east of downtown Orlando, Baldwin Park is a mixed-use, 1,100-acre, master-planned community built on the site of the former Orlando Naval Training Center.  The development team has received many awards for their strides in military base redevelopment and environmental remediation.  These include: Sustainable Florida Award – Council for Sustainable Florida; Corporate Citizen of the Year Award - Audubon of Florida; Building with Trees Award of Excellence - The National Arbor Day Foundation; and National Award for Smart Growth Achievement - US Environmental Protection Agency.
